A Word of Encouragement

The Full Letter
Dear Friends and Family of Lakewood Charity,
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. It is with a full heart that I write to you today — not with news of statistics or spreadsheets, but with the simple witness of what I have seen God do through your faithful generosity.
"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done."
— Proverbs 19:17
Last year, I had the privilege of standing in a remote village in northern Kenya, watching children run into a brand new classroom — built entirely by donations from people just like you. Many of these children had never sat at a proper desk before. To see their faces light up with possibility was to witness the Kingdom of Heaven breaking into the earth.
Your generosity is not merely a transaction — it is a prayer answered. Every dollar you entrust to us becomes food for a hungry family, textbooks for eager young minds, and clean water for children who once walked miles under the sun just to survive. You are not giving to an organisation. You are giving to a person. A name. A face. A life that God sees.
"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."
— Hebrews 13:16
As we look to the year ahead, we are believing God for more wells, more classrooms, more medical clinics, and more family meals. Not because we believe in programmes — but because we believe in people. We believe the church was always meant to be the most radical force for good on the planet.
I want to ask you personally: would you consider deepening your commitment? Whether it's your first gift or you've been with us for years — your next act of generosity has the power to change a life. Together, we are the hands and feet of Christ in a world desperately in need of both.
With love and gratitude,
Pastor Joel Osteen
